If you decide to spent your holiday in the Hotel Crocus in Štrbské Pleso in the High Tatras, we recommend you to visit the Dobšinská Ice Cave. From mid-May you have a possibility to go there for a family trip. It is located just round the corner of a historical mining town named Dobšiná. It belongs to one of the most distinguished ice-caves worldwide.
When visiting the cave do not underestimate what to wear. The interior temperature is about 0ºC all through the year. The cave is inhabited by twelve different species of bats. It has a length of 1.5 km, whilst the section accessible to the public has less than 500 m. Even that it offers a lot to admire during the time spent in the Dobšinská Ice Cave. Ice inside the cave creating the coherent ice floor, waterfalls, stalagmites and columns formed by the underground activity of nature will definitely enchant you.
