The name Nestville was created out of words NEST and VILLE, while “NEST” refers to a nest and “VILLE” stands for the English word “VILLAGE”. The combination of the two is a literal translation of “Hniezdne”.
Nestville Park Exhibition is a leading whiskey visitor attraction revealing a diversity of local traditions and craftsmanship related to the distilling industry in the Upper Spiš. The exhibition consists of three parts. A historical one presents the folk craft linked to distilling. A modern one offers a tour of one of the most modern distilleries in Europe. A traditional part of the exhibition presents the Carving Hall with a hand-carved art-piece as well as viewing of the maturation warehouses providing with grand tasting experience of the first Slovak whiskey. A rich program of tasting tours includes the Extended Tasting or the Whiskey Tour. Visitors will have a chance to fill in a bottle of Nestville Whiskey Single Barrel on a tour around production areas. To call it a day you should not miss the opportunity to visit a corporate gift shop with the Nestville Distillery products.
The tour takes about 60 minutes. The expert guided excursion is provided in 5 languages – Slovak, Polish, Russian, German and English. Nestville Park includes production facilities – Nestville Chocolate which enables to watch how chocolates are produced, as well as experience sampling and tasting. Although being the only chocolate factory in the region it offers an excellent taste of high-quality chocolate-based products and promotes the history, processing and production of various chocolate specialties. Playground is part of facilities available for the little visitors.
The gates of the new Nestville Taberna craft brewery built upon a long tradition of brewing a beer in the village of Hniezdne, will soon be opened to the public. In the brewery with a unique atmosphere and a restaurant you will learn about the history of beer and tickle all your senses by the unfiltered and the unpasteurized craft beer.
